Projects
A project groups cost from several issues and repositories. It is configured once in Admin → Projects and derived at query time, never stored, so editing a project re-attributes past cost too.
Create a project
A project has a key (PLAT), a name, and at least one of:
- an issue key pattern: a regular expression matched against the branch
name, e.g.
PLAT-\d+. The dashboard takes the project from the issue key when the whole key matches. The pattern must start with the project key followed by a fixed separator and may not use|at the top level, so no key can match two projects. - repositories:
owner/nameas in the git remote. When no pattern matches, the project comes from the repository, so work without an issue (main branch, CI agents) still lands in its project. A repository can belong to one project only.
A project without a pattern is identified by its repositories alone, and the agent uses the default issue key pattern for its branches.
Default issue key pattern
Under Admin → Agent the instance has a default issue key pattern: the
regular expression that finds the issue key in a branch name wherever no
project pattern applies. It ships with the pattern built into the agent
(PROJ-123, US-02.001). The dashboard counts what it matches as an issue,
along with keys that match a project pattern or exist in the tracker mirror;
everything else is "No issue".
What the agent does with it
The agent reads projects and the default pattern from /v1/agent-config
and caches them for 5 minutes. A session in a listed repository belongs to
that project: the hook matches the issue id with the project's pattern and
sends project_key along, so each call carries project_key in its
metadata. Cost can therefore be broken down per project even before any
tracker sync. Details in
Central configuration. To override
the mapping for one checkout, see Pin a repository.
In the dashboard
- The Project tile on the overview, and Project as a group-by and filter chip in every drilldown.
- The Analysis tab lets you pick a project to compare its issues, or all projects including issues without one.
- Budget alerts can target a project (
project: PLAT) via the API.
